IMPORTANT
I do not pretend that this is in anyway a 'new' Linux Distribution. This is for all intents and purposes an effort of remixing a basic Xubuntu which anyone with basic linux-understanding and some time could do. So please refrain from bringing this point up as an issue. All credit goes to the Xubuntu developers and the community for the excellent work they have done in releasing their excellent distro.

Are you missing any applications?? Anything in particular that you would like to see improved or changed in the next edition??
Please let me know by sending me a mail or message in the contact box on the page.
I'm planning version 2 within the next 3-6 months with a new kernel and updated/new applications.
USEFUL-INFO
The passwords for the applications are also readily available within the application via the Startmenu - Help.
Most of the applications homepages are bookmarked in Firefox for easy reference.
The majority of these applicatons are under the GNU/GPL license, however a few like Adobe, Netfonds Primetrader and some windows32 codecs are FREE but subject to possible restrictions in the respective EULA's. You have to find out yourselves what the situation is in your country regarding use.
As for Oanda which is a separate case the user is registered by me and you MUST if you wish to use it more regularly register your own account otherwise I have to remove this feauture.
bagluX-SM1 - Stock Market appliance
Xubuntu 8.04.1 LTS based
The bagluX-SM1 appliance has been built/compiled on a fully updated/upgraded (September 2008) Xubuntu 8.04.1 LTS and is a special edition geared towards users with a particular interest in the Stocks/Equity market. Apart from the standard headers and dev-tools which has been installed by me for the purpose of installing/compiling VMwareTools e.x.p-99530 the following has been installed from binaries or source;
- Adobe PDF Reader and the Adobe Flash plugin for mozilla
- PDF Editor (Free and open source editor for manipulating PDF documents)
- Grism (open source stock market observation tool)
- PrimeTrader (Free but licensed Stock trading tool and intraday portfolio)
- QTstalker (Commodity and stock market charting and technical analysis)
- Gretl incl. GNUplot (Gnu Regression, Econometrics and Time-series Library)
- Oanda FXgame (Forex training/trading tool, java web-based)
- SpeedCrunch (Advanced open source calculator)
- ConvertAll (Advanced open source unit converter)
- PSPP (Command line statistical tool)
- Beancounter (Command line book-keeping)
- MySQL 5.0 server/client (not fully configured)
- Oracle Berkley DB 4.6 runtime libraries.
- PHP5 and Apache2 (not configured but enabled in the boot process)
- Wine 0.1.12 and Internet Explorer 6 via ies4linux.
- Sun Java 1.5 runtime and mozilla plugin.
- Mplayer and mplayer-mozilla plugin
- Screenlet, sample Stock screenlets, digital clock and calender enabled on startup.
- Cairodock (Application Launcher)
- SysV-rc-conf (Command line Run time editor)
- Some dependencies for the above like Curl, wxPython 2.8 etc.
The appliance has been 'dressed' up in a customized theme (spanning from grub boot-screen to desktop)
combining various artwork including our own. All due credit and kudos goes to the following artists;- SlicknessS-Dark Xfce theme - by Th3R0b.
- Ater Alpha xfwm - by Simzer and ported by Roultabie
- OxygenRefitIcons2 - * Christopher Bratusek * Jason Scurtu.
- Usplash - OStux (by kilo323)
My appologies to anyone and everyone who has been forgotten. Please let me know and I will certainly give due credit.
